Manuel Antonio National Park is in Quepos and is the most popular park in Costa Rica. It is a park that the whole family can enjoy. Costa Rican people are also known as "Ticos" and they prefer this national among all the others. The park offers walking and hiking trails, rafting, canopying, diving, deepwater fishing, snorkeling, unspoiled beach areas, lowland rainforest, with many species of exotic animals, birds, whales and dolphins, sharks, great for nature lovers, tropical plants, butterflies, crocodiles, toucans, turtles. Surfers from all over the world come to Costa Rica to enjoy the surf.

Being on the pacific side you can find one of the best sports fishing of the coast of Quepos. The fishing is seasonal as any other area and it depends on the weather and water conditions. Small boats are available to rent at high tide.

One of the best walking and hiking trails you can find are in Manuel Antonio National Park. They have trails for all types; experience and not so experience. The views are spectacular from dense forest to open and pristine beach views. There are many qualified guides available at the entrance of the park to make your hiking or walking trip more enjoyable and they will organize your tour to fit your hiking or walking skills.

You can find that the weather is mild most of the year and topping the hottest month to 86 Fahrenheit. The rainy season is from august through October and the driest months are January and February.

If you want to watch different species of animals but do not want to get into the dense forest, the park has an easy walk heading to the picnic area that all you need is to bring you binoculars and you will be able to see the Sloth; a slow moving anima. Thanks to their being so slow moving you are going to be able to catch them at their favorite past time; they are very fond of sleeping.

The white face monkey is another one that runs loose through the forest. They like to roam the beaches in a pack looking for the unsuspected swimmer that leaves open food container, bag and even if you leave an open purse is like an open invitation to them; they will search your items to try and find edible items. Basically you are not supposed to feed them but they will feed themselves. They have a distinct scream that let's you know they are near by. They feel so protected in that beach area that you will feel that you are invading their territory; because they will come into your picnic area and try real hard to rummage through your items to take things, it is actually funny to see them turn someone's belongings upside down in search of food (as long as they are not my items.)

What to bring to Manuel Antonio National Park (the park does not sell any type of food, so you need to bring your own):

1-Binocular
2-Walking Shoes
3-Water
4-Food
5-Snorkel
6-Raincoat -Depending on the season
7-Towel
8-Bathing suit
9-Sun Blocking lotion
10-Umbrella
