Have you tried everything to make your man commit? Do you feel like your relationship is headed nowhere? Would you like to find out how he feels about the future, but you are too afraid to ask? Is your anxiety about the future destroying your relationship? Making a man commit can feel like an impossible task, but there are things you can do to make the subject easier for both of you.
Many men fear that as soon as they make a commitment with a woman everything will change. They'll lose their independence, they'll get bored, and they'll feel the increased pressure of being financially and emotionally responsible for both of you.
You have to fight his reluctance by showing him a different picture of what commitment is all about. You can influence his attitude toward commitment by being the opposite of all his fears. He fears he'll lose his own identity, so you want to encourage him to do the things that make him happy. Let him know that you are secure enough in the relationship for him to enjoy his other friends, hobbies, and activities.
He fears boredom so you want to show him that you know how to keep things alive and interesting. Make a habit of surprising him with little things here and there. Buy some new lingerie and seduce him. Plan a surprise date or weekend getaway. Send him little clues throughout the day about what awaits him when he sees you again.
He fears increased pressure so show him that you are a good partner that will support him and share in the responsibilities. You are one step closer to making a man commit when you ease his fears about how life with you long term will be.
Change the way you approach the subject of commitment. A lot of times women will avoid bringing up the subject of commitment because they don't want to scare a man off. But when you deny your own needs and desires for a secure future, you aren't doing yourself or him any favors. Instead of holding it in and then having a big confrontation about where the relationship is headed, use easy questions to draw out his feelings about commitment. Don't ask him where the relationship is headed. Some better questions are "what do you like about our relationship," or "what could make it better." Do this when you are both relaxed and comfortable and see what he says. This will tell you a lot about where his head is when it comes to the subject of commitment.
The subject of making your man commit doesn't have to be scary. First overcome his negative impressions about commitment and then approach the subject in a relaxed, casual manner rather than having the big talk.
