Make Money Online For Writers - Manage Your Time

Want to make money online from your writing? You can. However, you need to become an expert time manager if you want to make a great income. Here are some tips which will help.

1. Clear Your Email Inbox Right Now

Online communications like email, instant messaging, and tweeting on Twitter can be a huge time sink.

Ration the time you spend on these activities. Start with your Inbox. Clear it, right now.

The simplest way is to delete everything in your Inbox. Yes, everything, if you're using your email's Inbox as a de facto organizer.

If you can't bring yourself to use a scorched earth tactic, create folders called: To Do, and To Read. Now sort your email into those folders, plus folders you need for you work. (Creating a folder for messages from the boss is a good idea.)

Once your Inbox is empty, schedule time to manage your email, twice a day, if necessary. Close your email application, and only open it at the times you've scheduled.

2. What Do You Want? 100 Things

What do you want? Make a list of at least 100 things. Put everything on that list: you want a raise of $50 a week, a new jacket, a silk blouse, to visit Paris, France, to create a garden, to find a life partner, to buy_______, to stop procrastinating... And so on.

Keep going until at least 100 things are on your list.

3. Focus on One Writing-Related Thing Today

Since you're a writer, your 100 things' list contained a lot of things about writing.

Choose just one thing today which will help you to make money writing, and focus on it today. Just today -- don't worry about tomorrow, or next week.

For the next 21 days, select one writing-related thing to focus on each day. In the 21 days, you've developed a habit of focusing. When you get used to focusing, you'll manage your time, because time management is just a matter of choice -- everyone gets the same 24 hours.

4. Start, and Finish

Finally, in addition to focusing on just one thing each day, start and finish projects. The more projects you finish, the more money you will make online.
