The truth about network marketing or multi-level marketing (MLM) is that:

1. Choice of product - ensure that you like the product and it fast moving. The entry fee and monthly fee should not be prohibitive. Also confirm that the company is reputable and has a good compensation plan. Some companies will pay you peanuts for your blood and sweet while others will reward you handsomely for each sale.

2. Duplication - before you even tell any one about the product, make sure that the system can be duplicated. In network marketing, you will not make good money unless your down line is able to sell the products and teach the new people in the team how to sell the products and so on. 3. Avoid rejection - in traditional network marketing, you are taught to present the products/opportunity to your family, friends, relatives, work mates and people that you come across in social gatherings. Rejection from these people may hurt and discourage you from pursuing your dream of succeeding in network marketing. I recommend that you use the internet for your network marketing.

4. Get a website - get your own website where you can market several products that you are affiliated with. The website should have a lead capture page where prospects fill in personal details like name, phone number and email address in return for FREE items like e-books and ezines. The opt-in list will be used for following up prospects and informing them about new products that you become affiliated with in future.

5. Add relevant content to your website - on the internet, content is KING. The search engines will rank your website higher when you keep adding relevant content to your website. Can you imagine the amount of free traffic that you would generate by having articles appearing on the first page in Google? You should open a blog and post articles regularly. Search engines will find your articles and avail them to millions of internet users who will develop interest in your products. Transferring the blog to your web site is good so that each article that you post goes towards developing your website.

6. Drive targeted traffic to your web site - massive action = massive results. Your job is to drive targeted traffic to your website. The more people you have visiting your website, the more sign ups you get for the products that you are promoting. Article submission is an easy, inexpensive and very rewarding way of pulling massive traffic to your website. Submit original articles to online directories for other network marketers to read. Within a few weeks, your article will have been shared between several online directories and millions of targeted prospects will have visited your website. It's that easy.

7. Follow up with your prospects - send follow up emails to the every one on the opt-in list that you developed in step number 3. Most prospects need to be reminded at least 7 times for them to sign up. Good auto-responders can send follow up emails automatically to thousands of prospects for several hundreds of days. They never give up on your prospects.

8. It is about the MONEY - Why did you start the network marketing business? Don't beat about the bush! The answer is that you wanted more MONEY. You have no business telling prospects how good the products are. Just preach to them the same gospel that got you into the business - more money, more time and financial freedom. They will join you very easily when you focus on their dreams and hopes.
