MLM Lead Generation - He Who Leads Wins

Expert Author J. Elias

If you are in the network marketing industry or have a serious desire to build a home based business, MLM lead generation must be your primary focus. There is no doubt that whoever masters the art of MLM lead generation will come out as a winner in the multilevel marketing industry. It is extremely important that any home based business owner also become a master "closer", but the skill of closing will not help much if you don't have quality leads to bring into your business and downline.

There are many different methods that you can utilize in seeking out good prospects that are available. But the question is, "which methods are the most productive and efficient?"

Lets go over some of the tactics marketers use to obtain leads and evaluate which ones produce the best results.

The traditional methods of MLM lead generation are very simple and easy to learn. The multilevel marketing business model (as I am sure you know) is built around the concept of the "warm market". MLM companies understand the fact that the trust factor works well when spreading the word of their product or service. Simply invite friends, family, and associates to view a company presentation to make the process simple and duplicatable.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the MLM business model, but unfortunately the traditional approach does not lead to success for a great majority of aspiring network marketers.

The next option many are forced to turn to when unsuccessful with the traditional warm market method is to what we call the "cold market". For those with no sales and marketing experience, trying to tap into the cold market can be a daunting and nerve wracking experience. Approaching complete strangers about a business opportunity is a skill that takes time to master. You must be able to qualify the "cold" prospect before you even mention your business opportunity.

To qualify a cold lead you need to be a great conversationalist. And you need to also ask the right questions.

Here is a sample approach for AFTER you have developed a rapport with the prospect:

1. Control the conversation and turn it towards finances. - How is business/job? (they usually say good or great)

2. We all have egos and won't admit that we always want more. - You must be making more money that you can spend...haha (say it with humor)

3. If they say yes find a way to exit quickly, they don't need a business opportunity. If they say no you just created a problem for them that you might be able to fix. - Well, I don't know if I can help you...

4. This gives you control. - But I work with company XYZ and we are always looking for good people. (invite them to check out your company info)

There are many different approaches you can use and I am sure you get the picture. Just make sure that you keep your mind on getting the person to give you the information you need and keep control of the dialogue.

The subject that I have left for last is the one that I not only find extremely effective in finding qualified leads, but is also hands down the most efficient.

Let's face the fact that most if not all of the people you meet in your day to day transactions are not going to be qualified to join your business.

Think about the fact that tons of online dating sites are collecting tons of cash from the people that want to find the most qualified mate.

The people that join the sites in hopes of finding Mr. or Miss right understand that the more people they expose themselves to the better. They also know for certain that others on the site are looking for their perfect partner also.

So why not apply the same concept to MLM lead generation?

The more you expose your business to, the greater your chances of finding qualified leads to build your downline to levels you never dreamed possible. In addition, you can be comfortable in knowing that the people you expose yourself to are definitely looking for the right business opportunity.

It's time you capitalize on this fact and begin to harness the power on online MLM lead generation.
