An MLM entrepreneur is pretty hard. There are some that start it themselves and there are the ones where people join. The people that create an MLM in genius because they create a company that grows by itself and promotes its product in a very unique approach. They pay people to recruit customers and independent contractors. It's kind of like affiliate marketing but in real life.

Multi-level marketing (MLM) also referred to as Network Marketing is a business distribution model that allows a parent multi-level marketing company to market their products directly to consumers by means of relationship referral and direct selling.

I have been in an MLM and failed. When you do an MLM it's really hard to do it part time, mostly people have to do it full time because it requires you to recruit a lot of people to get money. It's like building your own company. Those people recruit more people and get paid for that. As you build a big company or downline they all needed to sell a certain amount of products to get promoted. Those products that they sell usually give some type of residual to their upline. So you make a small percentage off your downline. It's hard because a lot of times you will have to ask your family members and friends. For those people who have never done it will feel very negative about it. They may shun you or not even talk to you again depending on how you presented it. It's hard to find lot of business minded people or people that even have the time to make that big change. It's very difficult but if you can stick it out for a few years you will make a lot of money and not have to work as hard as you did in the beginning. It's the same for any company that starts up, it's very hard in the beginning but you reap the benefits.

There are some certain benefits. There are travel agency MLMs in which they try to find more and more agents who get paid on selling travel packages and airplane tickets. Those reap benefits of discounts when that person wants to travel they can basically purchase directly from the company at wholesale price.

There are pyramids schemes which are almost the same as MLM. The big difference between the two is that they don't have products. They pay people to recruit more people. So it's like an MLM but while they keep recruiting, the company does not grow at all because they aren't selling any products. Watch our for pyramid schemes. Only about 10% of MLM people actually stay. They curve into different factors like pressure of not making it and not being able to stick for the long term and quit.
