Long Haul Truck Driving

Next time you are in a Wal-mart, Shopko, Fred Meyers, Target or even your local grocery store, take notice of all the different items available. Where do they all come from? China you might say and you would be right on a large majority, but stuff comes from all over the world and all over the country.

Next time you are following an 18 wheeler and notice the signs on the back reading, "hiring truck drivers," temp drivers wanted," or "truck driving jobs available," stop and think about who is getting all the stuff to the stores. Men and women across the country are raising early in the morning, to beat the rush hour traffic, to get fresh produce, meats and dairy products to the stores for the daily consumption. Not just fresh items, but an endless supply of products are delivered daily to hundreds of thousands of stores across the country. We owe a debt of gratitude to these people for their work.

Driving a long haul truck must be exhausting but also I think it would be wonderful to see the Country, the towns, both small and large. To be the eyes of the highway and the ears of the people. They would certainly have their fingers on the pulse of the country. I know highway patrol rely on truck drivers to watch for suspicious activity and they have been the reporting call for many Amber Alerts. We owe much to these men and women. Next time you see a truck driving job sign for the hiring of truck drivers think about what they do for us. Everything single thing we own was trucked at one point before it hit it's final destination. Thank you truck drivers for you service.
