London Restaurants - Where to Eat

Are you off to London but unsure where the tastiest culinary delights can be found? This is the guide for you! Find out all about the best places to eat on a trip around the capital city and learn where the best restaurants are. London is a feast for budding gastronomes, with cuisines from all over the world. International tastes will be satiated with a veritable smorgasbord of cooking styles and restaurant experiences that will provide every ambiance you could wish for.

If you want a good home cooked meal just like Mama used to make, head down to Homa Mediterranean brasserie in Stoke Newington's Church Street and sample treats from the continent. For something with interesting history behind it, venture to the OXO Tower Bar and Brasserie which was part of a famous advertising trick to emblazon a building with the brand name of a popular stock cube and get around advertising laws on the South Bank which forbid certain forms of publicity. Alternatively, The Ivy in London's West End is the favoured celebrity hang-out close to Leicester Square and serves high class dishes to the well-heeled.

Those in West London wanting to sample a taste of France can book a table at Clos Maggiore in King Street. With classic French food such as duck a l'orange, foie fras and creme brulee, you'll feel as though you've been transported across The Channel with every mouthful. For something more eclectic, Les Trois Garcons is the perfect arty hideaway for the avant garde diners of East London. If you're finishing up work in your Mayfair office space and want somewhere stylish to dine, you may wish to drop by Gordon Ramsay's Maze restaurant in Grosvenor Square. Try the crab salad with marinated golden beetroot, the Irish ox 'tongue 'n' cheek' served with caper, raisin and ginger carrots or the peanut butter and cherry jam sandwich with tonka bean ice cream for something sweet.

Whatever your palate is craving, you'll be able to satisfy your hunger in the ever-surprising world of London restaurants.
