Loan Modification Companies - How to Spot a Fake
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Should you try to modify your own mortgage loan? With all the bad publicity surrounding the loan modification business, it boggles the mind how this was missed. History has always shown that the best way to check the credibility of a company is through the BBB. But yet, there are know it all advisors coming out of the woodwork to tell you not to use a loan modification company because of the scammers that are indeed out there. Little do they realize that one wrong move in the submission of your loan modification and you are declined even though you thought everything out and were studious, you still lost your house!

I am writing this article to let you know that there are experts in this field despite the bad raps and to give you the link by which you can research the track record of your prospective loan modification company. Here is the big secret; call the Better Business Bureau or go to their site and type the name of your prospective loan modification company into the box provided for a Business/Charity Name. Be sure to distinguish between other companies, possibly listed under the same name, by designating which State or Province in which they are located.

Let's take this one step further and limit your results to accredited businesses only. After searching, you should find that you have found an honest reliable company to resubmit your mortgage loan for you or renegotiate your rate and term, so you don't have to lose your home. But, you may find out that this company will need further research before signing anything or paying them any money. You need to probe them to make sure they have no interest in owning your home or prospering from your misfortune. As professionals they should be knowledgeable about the mortgage industry from years of experience, and they should have specific ideas on how to help you. Check to see if they will be adding you to countless satisfied clients. Ask about the staff, how long they have been in business.

There are companies that, if unable to help you, may have other solutions. They may have programs to help you possibly pay off what you owe to the bank or lender. This could provide you the time necessary to become financially stable while improving your credit standing. Call them, not once or twice but several times to find out if you qualify for assistance. Find someone who looks forward to assisting you and helping you achieve your goals. There are companies that offer a free consultation.

Life does not have to be this hard, let the experts do what they do best, renegotiate your home loan. Don't take chances doing it yourself. The mortgage loan resubmission process is time consuming is just too important a task to fail.
