You may have heard people talking about doing the work they are passionate about. But if you have been in a career or at a job you really don't like for many years, you may not be able to even think about what you are passionate about. You must think back to your childhood to reach into this area of thinking.

I had always wanted to be a writer, but several people had told me that my writing was not good enough. I chose to believe them and did not write for more than twenty years. Now I write every day because I am passionate about it.

Take a look at what you would do if money were not in the equation. Think about what your friends come to you and ask your help with. My friends used to ask me about which computer to buy and how to use certain software programs. I never saw this as anything special until I realized I was passionate about helping them to use their computer to improve their lives in a variety of ways.

When you have a day off, or even a few hours to yourself, allow your mind to wander and daydream. How would you be spending your time if it was completely up to you? What's most important in your life? What's on your bucket list?

Once I understood that my life was completely up to me, everything changed. I moved to a new city, changed careers, and met many new people. I can honestly say that I am now living my passion. You can do the same thing if you are willing to take a close look at your life and change the things you are doing every day.
