You don't have to become a Vegan or Raw Foodist overnight to achieve a more healthy lifestyle. If you think you're ready to make some little changes, you could soon be enjoying some big health benefits. You'll have a much greater chance at success if you just make a commitment to make one small change a week or perhaps, every other week.
For example, make a decision that this week, you will stop drinking carbonated beverages. Then, next week (or in two weeks), commit yourself to eliminating foods which contain high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). You could follow that up with reducing the amount of red meat you eat. Well, you get the idea.
The key is to set yourself up to succeed...one step at a time.
As with any journey, it's great to take a map. A map is a great visual tool that will both tell you how far you've come and what lies ahead. Put the dates you plan on making a change and then, list some of the reasons why you want to make that change. It will help motivate you as well.
I also subscribe to some great newsletters as well just so I can stay informed and get that frequent reminder of why I am choosing to eat more healthy foods. You can get some great tips at any one of a number of blog sites. Find one you enjoy and comment, become part of the community. It's much easier to stick with a healthy eating plan when you have the support and encouragement of others.
You have one life and one body. Take steps (even if they are baby steps) every day and enjoy every moment!
