In the world of precision shooting, few names are more synonymous with quality than Leupold. For greater than a century, Leupold has been manufacturing exceptional long-range optical equipment. Leupold rifle scopes are highly regarded within the military and law enforcement communities, with the Leupold Mark 4 rifle scope line becoming a particular favorite of those within the US Armed Forces, Special Forces units, and many Federal and State law enforcement sniper teams. Hunters and those within the world of competitive shooting also hold Leupold Mark 4 rifle scopes in particularly high regard, as they carry a reputation for unsurpassed accuracy, precision, and durability.

The Leupold Mark 4 rifle scope line is presently designed in four different variants to meet the needs and requirements of the individual operator. Nomenclatures for the Mark 4 optics line are MR/T, LR/T, and ER/T, with CQ/T being the newest addition to the family. The T in each variant stands for Tactical, with MR for Medium Range, LR for Long Rang, and ER for Extended Range. CQ represents Close Quarters, and is a much newer variant addition developed with an eye toward modern close quarters combat. Within each variant, besides the CQ/T, Leupold offers even greater specifications based on reticle types, adjustment-knob placement, overall weight, magnification level, and other objective criteria.

Since the late 1990's, the US Army has been using the Mark 4 LR/T fixed-power scope as the optic of choice in the M24 Sniper Rifle System, giving this Remington 700 rifle based system an effective range of over 800 meters. But it's Leupold's Mark 4 CQ/T that is a truly revolutionary rifle optic. Unlike other modern combat optics, the CQ/T is built with two dot systems for quickly and accurately engaging close up targets and a three-power zoom for greater accuracy at long distances. The amber dot is always available using no battery power, and the CQ/T has a red dot illuminated via 2 AA type batteries for 600 hours of continuous use. Built for the AR-15/M16 family of rifles, the Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T rifle scope is the perfect combat optic for the modern warrior, combining the best of close quarters combat lighted dot sighting with the 2x and 3x zoom capability of a medium range scope.

One of the key characteristics required of any quality rifle optic is its propensity to resist internal moisture. Leupold is an industry leader in the design of completely waterproof rifle scopes, with Mark 4 rifle scopes being nitrogen gas filled and sealed using a proprietary sealing process. Few companies make a greater commitment to quality of workmanship than Leupold. The Leupold lifetime warranty against manufacturer or material defect is second to none, lending an even higher standard of value to Leupold products.

The Leupold Mark 4 family of rifle scopes was designed in conjunction with the US Military, with the aim of meeting the rugged demands of today's warfighter. Even though they are designed from the perspective of a tactical environment, Leupold Mark 4 scopes are an excellent optic for hunters as well. Varmint and big game hunting, competitive long range shooting, tactical environments - Leupold has designed a line of rifle scopes with the Mark 4 line that truly meets the demands of any environment.
