Let's Go Blogging

Writing a Blog

Blogging is about communication with others on the internet. It's probably best described as conversational writing. The word 'blog' is simply a combination of two words. Web and log and started in the mid-1990s. Blogging slowly worked its way into the internet community and has become a major way of supplying information about virtually every subject you could imagine. It's also become a unique way for people all over the world to tell everyone about their everyday experiences.

In most cases, blogs are created for personal use. People write about their daily experiences, or whatever ideas they want to express online. Blogging now provides online businesses the opportunity 'talk' to their customers, keeping them up to date with the latest products and services. It also provides a softer, more personal image of the company that can help online sales. Business blogs are also one way of promoting the company so that the other readers will know that a certain company exists online. Blogging is also a great way to establish a name in the virtual marketplace with articles that can be very useful in everyday life.

So, if you want to create a blog, whether for pleasure or business here are some tips that could help you make your blog one of the more interesting blogs online.

1. Think about your target audience
Even in a personal blog you have to think about the mindset of your readers. What's going to interest them? Most of them would love to be "heard" (or read) and would love to be known, in some way or another, even for just a minute. It's very important to come with an article that people can understand, even if they don't necessarily relate to it.

2. Make it visual
To make your blogging worth the browsing effort of your readers, it's worthwhile considering putting some pictures in it. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to place a picture of yourself. Any photographs that are relevant will do as long as it's not offensive in any way to anyone who will be reading your blog.

3. Be constructive and helpful
Even if you are free to write about anything at all, you should create write-ups that would be useful as well as informative. to your readers. Remember people read what you write because they want to be entertained and informed.

4. Keep it Simple
In order to have interesting blogs, try not to use highly technical and complicated words. Stick to simple facts and short blogs. Bear in mind that most people who use the Internet usually do more scanning than reading word for word. So it's always better not to write lengthy blogs that will bore your readers.

5. Make it interactive
As much as possible, and if your capacity will allow it, make your blog interactive. You can do this by including some video or audio clips in your blog. You can even place an area for comments or feedbacks. In this way, you can get an idea of what people think. We all like our opinion to matter. It makes us feel good.

Remember, blogs are not always created just for the mere fun of it. They also have a purpose in the world of the Internet. It doesn't matter if it's for business or pleasure. Spend a little time on what you want to say. It's worth it.
