Lessons Learned on Trust - Relationships and Friendships

I am a person who treasures friendship a lot. Ever faced issues with friendships just because your boyfriend or girlfriend tells you to review (or a crude term for it would be to break off) your friends just because he or she finds some of them childish? I have went through this.

Let me share with you an experience that I had just went through.

I ended a short-term relationship with a guy. I have been on good terms with a close friend. From what I gather, words that have been said by me and my close friend have been twisted by the guy so much so that our friendship almost ended. From what I gather from my other friends, I found out he had been doing other things behind my back like getting contacts. He also criticized my friends (including my close friends) about almost everything e.g. the profession which my friends are pursuing etc.

I do accept that no one is perfect.

I made the mistake of using my emotions to make my decisions and caused a lot of misunderstandings. I should have probed more as with regards to why he criticized when in fact he does not know my friends that well. Thus, I make the wise decision of severing ties with him and I was happy with it. The friendship with my close friend was salvaged.

Lessons Learn: Gather all the facts opinions and make a decision based on logical thinking not based on emotions. To be objective and honest in my dealings with friends. Clarify with all sides before coming to a decision that is neutral and just. Every decision made has its pros and cons, there is nothing right and wrong with a decision made so long as the decision made is comfortable and you are happy with it. I hope readers are able to judge for yourselves and be inspired by this article.
