The Lenovo ThinkPad T60 is a very sturdy, well built laptop which is quite popular in the world of business professionals. This laptop typically outperforms similar portable computers in the same class. One of the immediate pluses is the way this laptop runs cooler then that of its competitors. This is not only a comfort feature, but we always say this is also an indicator of a longer life with less likelihood of the board going bad.

One thing that has changed in the ThinkPad T Series with this particular model is the UltraNav buttons and the handy hardware buttons which are found on the topside. Another noticeable change is that the mouse buttons now have much more cornered edges and are quite noticeably smaller than they were before. Overall this presents a very natural and comfortable improvement.

The ThinkPad T60 is an extremely rugged and well built laptop computer which holds up quite well with the rigors of frequent travel. This is a very important point when considering purchasing a laptop. Unlike the desktop computer which usually stays based in one location, the portable computer is usually mobile and therefore the opportunity for accidents and mishaps is greatly increased.

Performance wise, the ThinkPad T60 sports an Intel 2.0 GHz Core Duo processor and an Intel chip set. The 100 GB SATA hard drive was installed in the unit which we tested for this review. This particular laptop had 3 GB of memory which is the max Windows XP Professional 32 bit will recognize. We had impressive results with the ATI 128 MB video testing while viewing the 15" screen. This model also comes in a 14" screen size version.

Other features include the Intel Pro wireless which supports 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g. This is particularly handy if you need to connect to somewhat older wireless networks while out on the road.

We found that the battery charge life of the 9 cell was not quite as lengthy as expected, however we chalk this up to the fact that we were using the 15" screen with brightness all the way up and pushing the laptop video quite hard for testing purposes. The recharging time was pleasingly quick.

Overall the ThinkPad T60 is a very impressive laptop which offers a tremendously sturdy design worthy of the most hardcore road warrior. The included fingerprint scanner offers an appreciated extra level of security which we think is geared toward the business professional that may have concerns over their sensitive data while traveling with their computer.

Weighing in at just over six pounds the ThinkPad T60 is a powerful, reliable laptop computer geared toward the traveling business professional with a mind for performance and security.
