Learn the Different Dwarf Hamsters Types and Increase Your Intelligence

If you're wondering about the different hamster types, it may come as a surprise you that there are actually several of them that are available. To be more specific, there are 4 different dwarf-hamsters types that you should be aware of, although one of them is actually what is generally known as a rat like hamster. Here is a little bit about these four different types of hamsters.

Campbell's dwarf hamsters - This is the most common type of hamster that you are going to find at a pet store. These hamsters are also known as Russian dwarf hamsters and Djungarian hamsters. If you're just looking for a dwarf hamster, more than likely this is going to be the one that you end up with. The other dwarf hamsters types may require a little bit more looking before you are able to find them.

Russian white dwarf hamster - This hamster is also called a Siberian Hamster and it is very close to the Cambell's hamster in the way that it looks. You will not find this as often in the pet stores, however as it is a completely different hamster than the Campbells. Telling the difference between these two dwarf hamsters types can be difficult unless you have them right next to each other.

The Winter white hamster tends to be a bit larger and it has thicker fur. You will also notice that the fur on the Campbell is a bit lighter than it is on the Winter white. Since these are 2 different species, they should not be bred with each other.

Robo Dwarf Hamster - If you really want a small hamster, this is the one that you are going to choose. This is the smallest of the dwarf types that is out there. Although these aren't the most popular type of dwarf-hamster that is available, they seem to be gaining in popularity.

Chinese Hamster - This is actually not a dwarf hamster at all but rather, it is a rat-like hamster. The difference is that it has a longer tail than the true dwarf hamster breeds. Although it is not one of the dwarf types, it is still accepted as such by most people that know the different types because it is so small.

If you are really interested in something specific, you should make sure that you familiarize yourself with the different types so that you can truly tell the difference. This is the only way that you will know for sure exactly what you are getting, especially if you are purchasing it in a pet store.

Typically, you can go through a reputable breeder and find the specific dwarf type that you want.

You may pay a bit more for this option, but it will be well worth it if you really care about the hamster breed that you own after all they all have different temperaments.
