Learn the Correct Ways of Researching Niches

If you are starting to earn money on affiliate marketing, you can take another giant step ahead of you by trying to find and dominate some good niche markets. This is a wide scope to cover but understanding the basics of finding and researching niches is going to help get you there sooner than you think.

1. Basic Understanding of how to find your niche
Your main objective when you are looking for a good niche is to find what people are searching for on the Internet. If you are able to find what most people are looking for and without any keen competition, then you have found a very good niche market.

2. Keywords
Before you start looking for a good affiliate marketing niche, the first thing that you should do is to determine what are the good keywords. This is because when people generally type into the search engines, they may be using their own search terms. However in the context of our online business they are in fact using keywords to do their searches.

Keyword can refer to one single word or a few words together called a keyword phrase. If it has a string of more than three keywords they are called long tail keywords. Long tail keywords usually have lesser competition and you would want to focus on long tail keywords during your research for your niche. As an example if you are interested in a niche on weight loss, to try to rank for this 2-word keyword would be a bad decision because there is just too much competition. A better way would be to target at a sub-market with a keyword phrase such as 'Weight Loss for Women over 50', where the competition is lesser.
