If your child has been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder you may want to try a list of foods that may help your child. Some children have sensitivities to certain foods and dyes. By eliminating these foods and dyes your child may have less symptoms of ADHD.

Briefly ADHD symptoms include the following: Impulsiveness, unable to focus, unable to finish a task completely, unable to follow directions with more than one step, excessive talking, makes a lot of noises, fidgets in his or her seat, and basically moving around a lot and unable to sit for long periods at a time.

Studies have shown that certain foods may help your child with ADHD symptoms. Such foods are those with high protein. Have your child eat a protein packed breakfast. Eggs, peanut butter, cheese, meat, nuts and if you can get them to eat beans. If not, have beans in their other meals or at snack time.

Eat carbs that fruits and vegetables have. Not only could you be helping your child with ADHD, you will be feeding your child much more healthy foods. These foods can be easily added into any meal or snack.

Have your ADHD child eat Omega-3 fatty acids. If your child likes tuna fish try to feed it to him or her. A delicious recipe for tuna fish is to put tuna fish with mayonnaise on an English muffin. Top the English muffin with cheddar cheese or a Velveeta type of cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for fifteen minutes. This is a fun and tasty finger food your child will enjoy eating. Other Omega-3 fatty acids your child may enjoy are salmon, cod, blue gills and other white fish. Nuts that are high in Omega-3 fatty acids include walnuts and Brazil nuts. Use nuts to top salads, eat by the handful or bake in foods. If your child does not like any of these foods you can also talk to your doctor about using an Omega-3 supplement.

Keep away from sugary foods such as high sugar cereals, candy, corn syrup products, and even honey. With corn syrup you need to look at every label. You will be surprised at how many products contain corn syrup from Fritos to child's medications.

A good idea would be to get your child used to sugar-free candy and cereals that are healthy and tasty that are not loaded with sugar. An easy way to tell which foods to eat is to stay away from processed foods and eat more natural foods that can be grown. Organic foods would be the best to use if one can afford them. Or try buying a wash to get pesticides off of fruits and vegetables. Although some studies have reason to believe pesticide washes may not work due to the fact that the pesticides may be saturated into the skin of the fruits and vegetables.
