Shock and Awe:
The next time you desire that dark chocolate bar with raspberries, I would like you to take it, go into your bedroom or bathroom, take off all your clothes, and slowly eat it in front of the mirror, savoring every last bite. Now, tell me how good it tastes when you look at your jiggly areas. I then want you to stare at the part of your body that you are most unhappy with and realize that your favorite candy bar- the one that you are devouring right now is going directly to those hips, thighs and belly making them fatter and fatter.
Think about these things: Is the extra 45 min workout that I have to do worth the 400 calories that I just consumed in three minutes? Does it make up for the extra time and embarrassment that I will feel about my body? These are the things that a detox diet will address to help you get rid of belly fat. This becomes effective due to the usage of the anchoring principle. Research shows that you can associate feelings of pain or feelings of pleasure to anything. This simply implies that you are in charge of your emotions.
Repetition is a big key to making this work. For Example: If you are a chocoholic, who is trying to lose weight, start doing the Shock and Awe technique every time you crave chocolate. A "negative" anchor associated with chocolate, ice cream, etc. will then be planted in your brain. You will actually build neural pathways to associate your food craving with how fat you look in the mirror in the same way you would build a pathway to become addicted to smoking. This is a very effective means to control and cut back those bad food cravings.
