With hundreds of options with your lead generation software, you really need to take a close look at what you need and what you're getting.

You can easily find yourself spending upwards of $500 just for an application that finds leads for you, but why pay that much when you have options.

Here are some factors you really need to look into when considering a lead generation system.

*Price - Price definitely plays an important role in this decision. If your company has thousands of dollars to spend, perhaps a custom solution would be a good choice. But most don't... so keep your budget in mind. 

*Ease of use - How easy is the software to use? Does it work with a single click, or do you have to fill out a dozen fields just to get 20 or 30 leads?

*Testimonials - How many satisfied customers are there? Look for at least a dozen testimonials on any software you're buying for your business. After all, why would you want to be the guinea pig and have to work around a ton of bugs? 

*Support - How easy is it to contact customer support? Can you contact them at all, or do you just have to deal with your problems on your own? The better the customer support, the easier your experience in going to be. 

*Quality of leads - This is a big one... You have a few options on this. You can collect leads that come to your website, which are always the best quality - but that takes weeks, and sometimes even months to start seeing your first leads. Secondly, you can use a software application that goes out to the internet and finds leads for you, so you don't need to wait for them to show up at your own website. In my opinion, and my sales prove it every day, this is definitely the better option. 

*B2B or retail - Are your leads business to business or are they retail leads? If they're the latter, you'll likely need to work on building an email list on your own website. However, if you're in the business of working with other businesses, that's where lead generation software will really help you make more sales. You see, it's a heck of a lot easier to generate b2b leads online than it is to generate retail leads. The latter isn't impossible, it's just tougher. 

Now, like I said before, there are many, many options when it comes to lead generation software, so please do be careful when choosing a solution.
