Lead Generation - Does It Really Work?

I have been involved in network marketing for about 8 years with minimal success in a few different companies. There has been some very "down" times in generating an ongoing income. The frustration endured by most people is evident within this industry so it's time to change it so people can profit and turn it into a long term business.

Why is generating an ongoing income in network marketing perceived as being difficult and why do people quit? First off, new people have a hug expectation of making a lot of money very quickly (they have usually been misguided) that the big payoff is just around the corner. The real truth is that Network Marketing is a real and legitimate business where you can build a large organization and generate lifestyle and a ton of money but it's going to take real work, effort and learning on your part. The average person doesn't want to put forth effort and says that they can't find people to sponsor so they quit.

Which brings me to my point about Lead Generation and does it really work? After you burn through your warm market of family, friends and coworkers with no one of them that are interested in building a significant income with you it's time to get serious about lead generation. Your largest most qualified market is the cold market correct? Well not exactly. Actually it's more specific. Your target market should be other network marketers that are hungry for information. People in your own niche are the perfect clients or leads for you because you already have something in common with them. I am not saying to go and hard sell these people and steal them away from their current business. I wouldn't do it and shouldn't either. What you need is to implement a system that will sift and sort through and find people that actually come to you.

Now since I have pretty much given away the farm here with what I have already told you it's time to get your marketing system up and running to start attracting these qualified people to you. A marketing system will be the cornerstone and most important aspect of generating leads for your business. Not only will it generate higher quality leads than purchased leads but you will also create a substantial income before even bringing up your primary business. A properly setup campaign will eventually fund itself so your leads become free. How you do this is by someone visiting your system and you provide a useful information product at a fair retail price for them to purchase. By doing this you are providing a solution to their problem (you are helping them) in a non sales type fashion. People are always looking for solutions so you want to put yourself in front of them and help them. When you do this enough you'll make money, gain trust with your prospects and some will join you in building a successful business. Yes, lead generation works and it works very well for anyone that wants to build a business of significance.
