There is nothing more unsightly than seeing weeds sprouting from your beautiful lawn. There are many different kinds of weeds that can infest your lawn; some are more obvious to spot than others. But, with the help of this guide, you will be able to hunt down and eradicate any and every weed in your yard.

There are many different kinds of weeds that can sprout up in even the lushest of lawns, from dandelions to crabgrass to those prickly bushes that hurt like the dickens when you step on them. The key to identifying them is first to know what exactly you're looking for. Considering your lawn most likely includes green grass blades, anything that sticks out to the naked eye is probably a weed and, depending on the kind of weed, can possibly be removed immediately.

There are many different ways to remove the weed once it's been found, and if you find a weed in your yard you should waste no time in getting to remove it. There are many things you can do to remove weeds, and even some things you can do to prevent them in the first place.

Spread mulch on your lawn after each mowing. This prevents sunlight from reaching any seeds that may grow into dandelions or other weeds. Popular mulches include wood chips and straw for gardens, but in the case of a lawn the only option really is grass clippings. If you have a mulching lawnmower, your job is already done for you.

Another way to ensure your lawn doesn't become infested with weeds is to pull them as soon as possible. It is important to pull many weeds because spraying a weed killer can often times harm or even kill the grass surrounding the weed. The best method of removing certain weeds is to pull them by hand. Be sure to wear thick gloves when you pull them as many weeds have little thorns that can prick your hand. After the plant is pulled, then you can spray a small amount of weed killer in the hole the weed had occupied to ensure you kill the root.

There are other ways to identify and remove weeds from your lawn, but many of them involve damaging the lawn you've worked so hard to maintain. Following these simple steps will ensure that you remove any weeds, while keeping your lawn looking presentable.

If you take the proper steps mentioned here, you can help prevent the spread of weeds and reduce the amount of time you have to spend doing lawn maintenance You can learn more preventative measures like how to use lawn mowers the proper way at: http://www.bladeslawncare.com
