Don't fall into this trap. If you don't love him the way he is, then you might need to find someone else.
Be his partner, but keep your own life.
You should be looking for someone to share your life with. This does not mean that you replace your own life with a relationship. You should be working on keeping your outside passions fed as well as nurturing a loving partnership.
A man wants a partner to go through life with him. He doesn't want someone who has no life outside of him, just as you don't want someone with no mind of his own. Be with him, but don't make him your whole world. Lasting love is shared between two people who are both complete individuals.
