The LG Pop is a relatively new entry to the markets but it is already flying off the shelves. The mass appeal of the LG Pop lies in its elegant style, good features and affordability. This new touch screen handset is also known by its model number as the LG GD510 but more commonly being marketed as the rather strangely sounding Pop.

Here we have discussed about the most prominent features of the set:

Appearance- This is the smallest touchscreen LG phone in the world. It measures 3.85 x 1.95 x 0.44 inches. It is easy to carry and feels quite solid in spite of its small size. The entire unit is made using brushed aluminum, giving it an understated elegance. The front panel is dominated by the screen. As a matter of fact, the bezel measures just 4.8 mm. There is a single button at the bottom corner which is used to receive and hang up on calls. It glows green when there is an incoming call and red when a call is ended. This key can also be used to navigate to the homepage.

Display- The 3 inch WQVGA touchscreen is a major highlight. It has a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. The screen is perfect for viewing images, web pages, video clips etc with ease.

User Interface - The UI of the LG Pop is quite simple and easy to understand. There are three home pages. They can be customized as per the users wish. The first homepage contains shortcuts and widgets. The second homescreen displays contacts along with their photos, phone numbers and other details. The third homescreen is the LG LiveSquare page. Here you can find a list of people you have recently contacted. Each contact has a little avatar too. This adds an element of fun to the homepage.

Phonebook- You can store contact details of over 1000 people in this phonebook. It is possible to store multiple numbers for each contact. Ring ID, Picture ID etc are also present so that you can customize your phone further.

Multimedia- The multimedia features are quite good. Both audio and video player are present. They support almost all popular file formats like MPEG4, MP3, AAC etc. It is possible to download media files over the internet. You can also share music files wirelessly using Bluetooth. FM radio is present. You can tune in to local and national broadcasts while on the go.

Imaging- The 3 mega pixel camera is quite basic. It has digital zoom and is easy to use. Pictures are of good quality. Video recording is also possible.

Connectivity- Loading and browsing web pages takes slightly longer than usual. This is due to EDGE browsing speeds. The Teleca Obigo browser is easy to use.

Organizer- The LG Pop comes with features like alarm, calculator, calendar, to-do list etc.

Battery- The LG GD510 Pop comes with a standard Li Ion battery. There is an optional solar panel which you can use to charge your phone with solar power. Exposing this handset to sunlight for 10 minutes gives you 2.25 minutes of talk time.

This is an eco-friendly model with all the features one really needs. It is very affordable, simple and stylish.

The LG Pop and Nokia 5800 Chrome are two new touch screen phones to be recently released, for more details please see our website - Phones Limited.
