Koyla, FC Road

Two months after his birthday, when I had lost all hope, Mota gave us his birthday treat. 10 of us went to Koyla, FC Road. I had been there before, for Autumn's birthday treat. Ghazals, soft lights, royal like, quiet ambiance; I have never been a fan of this place, even though I was the one who suggested it.

The place is ideal for those suffering from a heartbreak (just kidding: D). It's a place where you can have a drink or two, under dim lights, and listen to ghazals all along. Did you know-the artifacts that are displayed on the walls of the restaurant are real, the coins and the sword etc. I loved the sculpture of Golconda fort on one the walls. The restaurant however is quite small. Certainly not an ideal place for office parties.

Since we had gone there during the Sharaadh season, I had vegetarian food only. For starters we ordered Tandoori Aloo, Paneer Tikka, Reshami Paneer, a variety of Mix veg, and Hara Bhara Kabab. Main course consisted of dal tadka, dal palak, a variety of paneer, and Tawa Sabji along with Tandoori Panatha, Reshami Parantha, Naan, Rotis, etc. Tandoori Aloo and Paneer Tikka were very tasty and so was Dal Tadka, Paneer and Tawa Sabji. However Reshami Paneer was sweet (I am not sure if its made that ways only). Also Hara Bhara Kabab is definitely avoidable, and so is Reshami Parantha when it comes to breads.

Also nobody among us liked Dal Palak. But the tastiest dish for the evening was - Gajar Ka Halwa. I don't remember having tasted a better prepared halwa anywhere else. It was even better than what my mom cooks (N I consider her to be one of the best cooks). It's so good that you should go there just to have gajar ka halwa.

The service is very good; royal you can say. And so is the bill. It cost Mota Rs. 6000. Go there if you are in a mood to empty your pockets. ;)

http://bestreviews4u.net - Many a times i have been asked by friends which restaurant should they visit for some special occasion. Which one has good food? Which one has good ambiance. Since i am a connoisseur of food and experimental by nature i created this blog to put together mine and my friends experiences to various restaurants we have been to. Right now the scope is limited to cities of Pune and Delhi. These reviews are first hand information and hence quite reliable. Though please note that these are personal views and may differ from person to person.
