Jogging Strollers - All-Terrain, Urban, Or Standard?
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Jogging strollers have become one of the most requested designs of strollers. Not only do they allow active parents to stay active while taking their child out, but they offer all the space and security of a standard stroller. Since the creation of jogging strollers, more specific and sturdier variations have been added. The most notable are all-terrain and urban terrain strollers. Both of these use the same three-wheel design, but the all-terrain stroller uses larger wheels, while an urban terrain design puts everything on a smaller, narrower scale. As jogging strollers have become more flexible and versatile to moving, many go after this type of design when looking for a baby stroller.

The all-terrain type of stroller keeps the same size of seat for the child, but the overall design of the stroller is created to be more comfortable for the child. This is done by adding a suspension system to the stroller's frame and larger wheels with air-filled tired. Although the suspension and larger wheels makes the stroller heavier, the stroller is able to go over nearly any terrain. Want to take your child on a trail? An all-terrain stroller is durable enough for the uneven surface of a dirt path with rocks, and the suspension keeps the child comfortable while the parent pushes the stroller.

Urban terrain strollers are designed specifically for those who live in a city and frequently take their child outside. One issue for city parents is using a stroller on crowded, narrow sidewalks and taking it on public transportation. In either case, the ideal stroller is one that is narrow enough not to take up enough space for pedestrians and one that can fold up or fit on a bus or subway car. Urban terrain strollers offer the streamlined design of an ordinary jogging stroller, but they're designed on a smaller scale.

All types of jogging strollers give parents two wheel options: rotating and fixed. Rotating is often the best for going out for a walk or taking a stroller on public transit. But if you're a physically active person and plan to jog or run with one of these on a track or jogging path, fixed wheels are less cumbersome to control.
