When the Jeep Cherokee first hit the road in 1974, the Cherokee model was considered a downsized version of the popular Jeep Wagoneer. It had the same components as the Wagoneer. However, the model only came in a two door. Each year Jeep would make basic modifications to the model, and add a few new models into the Cherokee family. It was not until the Jeep Grand Cherokee came on to the market in 2000 that the Cherokee family was complete. When the Cherokee first hit the market off roaders, were excited at being presented with a compacted SUV that had the capabilities to be taken off road. Not only could the vehicle be taken off road, but the driver could feel confident that their vehicle would withstand the pressure. This was a confidence, which was easy, for the manufacture to gain due to the fact, that the vehicle was modeled after its predecessor Jeep Wagoneer.  

The Jeep Cherokee soon developed a following and became the most popular Jeep model sold on the market. Even today, the vehicle is still revered in its circle. Each year the Cherokee model, is still on the market their much respected reputation climbs another notch. The Jeep Cherokee soon became the icon of not only the SUV world, but of the entire driving world. One of the items that helped propel its reputation to such high levels was that it is downright practicality and power. This breaks down to the Cherokee being the vehicle that can transcend from off road to on the road usage. The vehicle is geared with maximum power, and loaded with accessories that are practical and make sense.

Each year the manufacture will add some jazz and character to their models.  When the Jeep Grand Cherokee hit the market, the Cherokee family grew to new highest. Jeep was able to add more models to their own family. The Jeep family currently consists of several different models. Each model mainly has two different styles. However, from time to time Jeep will add a limited edition or extra package model.
