From a very young age, most of us have been ingrained with the idea that success does not come easy. We have seen, heard and witnessed how our elders struggled to make ends meet. Wealth seems to avoid them like a healthy man avoids the plague.
Thus, it is not surprising that we(most of us, anyway) ended up having the same "scarcity mentality" like our parents, relatives and teachers back then. We believed that success only comes to those who are either very lucky, very educated and who worked very hard. No two ways about that.
Then as we grew up, got a job and generally got wiser, we realize something is not right in our world. We see "ordinary" people getting rich. We see big, flashy cars drive past us in a hurry. We see huge houses lining every street we walked. And we see "lazy people" succeed without working their guts out. How is this possible? They must be the lucky ones, we thought.
So we ask ourselves "Can I succeed without working hard?"
There is no clear answer to these questions because it depends on how one defines "hard work" or "working hard". The nearest answer would be: Yes, it is possible to succeed without physical hard work but you still need to put in some mental work and some inspired work or actions.
In other words, there is a "lazy way" to financial success. This is not a myth but neither is it a miracle. Let me explain.
By "lazy", I don't mean being a loafer and sitting on your bum the whole day watching TV and doing nothing else. No, no, you won't get rich in a million years by simply watching American Idol and doing nothing else. Money will not fall from the sky and land on your lap, even if you are sitting under an open sky.
However, you don't need to work like a laborer or spending 10-12 hours doing paper work in the office if you want to achieve financial success. Look at the people who work the hardest in any country - the road sweepers, the cleaners, the odd job laborer. Are they rich? The key to financial success is not hard work but smart, inspired work.
In order to succeed the lazy way, you need to know 3 things:
1. You must condition your mind for success - ie, you have to acquire that success mindset first.
2. You must know what you want - ie, you need to have very clear goals.
3. You only take inspired actions - ie, you don't want to do the dog work and get paid bones.
If you don't have a success mindset, then you must have a poverty mindset. In my opinion, the number reason for poverty anywhere in the world is the predominance of a poverty or scarcity mindset among the people. So it is crucial, even critical, that you MUST get rid of this "mind disease" and acquire the success mindset as soon as possible.
Having a clear goal is also important because if you don't know where you are going, how can you get there? Set a goal igh enough to push you into actions but not too high as to be unbelievable.
The lazy part of being a successful person really relates to taking action. Remember you don't have to work hard to succeed. You work lazy and work smart. Why? Because by refusing to work hard, you actually force your brain to think of other creative (lazy?) ways to get the work done faster and more efficiently. The lazy way to success really means using the powers of your mind to achieve success by going through the path of least resistance.
