Expert Author Ralston Heath

Many companies out there advertise that weight loss can be had overnight. It is amazing that there are so many people who think that they can lose weight instantly. Let us ask a question; can you gain weight instantly? Well in the same manner that you got the weight is the same manner you will have to get rid of it; gradually.

Do you want weight loss that comes in a pill and you don't have to change the way you eat or behave? I am here to inform you that it just aint gonna happen. You got overweight through an unbalanced diet and lack of exercise, and you will only be able to cure it a balanced diet with the appropriate portion control, and exercise.

Instant gratification

With the rise of fast food and easy food, we have become a people of instant gratification. We expect our food right now, and we get it. We are not willing to wait for anything, and that includes weight loss.

For some reason we feel that even though it took years to become overweight that we can get down fifty pounds in a weekend with one box of pills, or some miracle drink.

To lose weight we have to stop eating so much, and that involves a plan called a diet. That word brings shudders to many, as they have tried and failed many a diet. The reason they failed is that they did not get instant results. The diet may have worked if they had stayed on it a few months or years.

The basics

The idea behind any diet is to reduce calories in your life. A two layer approach, first reduce the amount you ingest, and second increase the amount you burn. As calories go away, you lose weight.

This takes time and effort. You not only will be changing your eating habits you will be changing your lifestyle. Do not get silly and think you have to give up your possessions and move across the county or something like that. The lifestyle change will be inside of you.

Change is scary

You have become used to living a certain way, eating a certain way and this has resulted in your being overweight. To lose weight and get into shape requires an effort and dedication on your part. This means you can no longer be what you are now.

You will have to change, change your eating habits, change your diet, change your exercise or lack thereof habits, and so on. Fit and trim is a lifestyle, and a weight loss plan is a way to change, just be aware that this is a lifetime commitment.

You will have to change what you are doing to see results, and once you have the results you, desire there is not going back to what you were doing before. Weight loss is not easy and overnight; it is effort and takes the rest of your life for it to be permanent weight loss.

Be Blessed
