I was in my local super market last week and about to pay for my basket of shopping - apricots, strawberries, blueberries and bananas, when the lady at the till commented on how healthy my shopping basket was - I hadn't really noticed but on looking around the store, I realised my basket was the only one that didn't contain anything processed...

Processed food has become more 'normal' than natural food

Most people believe that it is normal to live a life in which they eat food that is far removed from nature and consider diets high in natural, raw and living foods as extreme.

Although it is now accepted that processed food, laden with fats and sugar, will cause illnesses and dis-ease; people continue to eat these foods having no reason to think about the bigger picture.

Processed food that is far removed from any natural ingredient also far removes us from our natural flow with the universe.

Today we live in a world that is abundant with toxicity and distractions that come in all forms, food being a key distraction and source of toxicity. Once we begin to remove these distractions and see through the facade our lives and their events become clearer and our truth is revealed.

Food is such an important factor because it plays such a major role in our lives. Food is no longer used to nourish the body it is used as a form of gratification and to stimulate or numb the senses.

If you think of social occasions there will probably be food involved, food is used to celebrate and to commiserate. If you feel down you may use food to comfort and soothe yourself and if you want a reward you may think you deserve a particular food. Food is engrained into our society as a substance that is often misused.

The more responsibility we take for the food we eat and increase the living raw food that we eat the more our lives take on greater meaning and purpose as we start to understand how we have been blocking our true nature.

Yes raw foods will give you more energy, you are likely to lose weight, have clearer skin and ailments may clear. But the biggest gift you have when you increase the amount of raw food in your diet is the ability to step into your own flow, discover your unique brilliance and Shine in the world.
