Is Free Email Marketing Software Worth It?

Expert Author B Carter

If you are considering email marketing, you might want to start out with free email marketing software. This is especially nice if you are working on a tight budget. Using free software means that you will be able to turn a profit with no capital investment. You will still have to put in the effort to make the software work for you, but it shouldn't hurt your pocketbook.

Free email marketing software packages are not going to come with all the bells and whistles, but they should come with some basics. A bulk email tool and a way to manage your lists are a couple of the basics. Some may include other features, but don't get too caught up in the features. If you are just starting out with this kind of marketing; simple is best. You are going to want to master the basics before you get more involved with it.

You may also find that free email marketing software works just fine for you. You might never end up paying to get a bigger or better package. This could be true for a couple reasons. Perhaps you like not having to pay for a package, or maybe you are so used to the basics that when you add in other features it's just too much to handle. Having all sorts of features does not mean it's a better program. It means that it has the potential to do more, but you may not always need more for good results.

People often confuse free with poor performance. This is not always true. Using free email marketing software doesn't mean that it won't work. It will work. As I said before, you may not get all the bells and whistles with the free versions, but it will come with the basics that you need for it to perform correctly. Sometimes all the bells and whistles can be confusing as well. It takes time to get use to anything new. The more features and fancy things your program can do, the longer it takes to get use to it. Having all the bells and whistles doesn't mean anything if you never figure out how to use them. The longer it takes to get use to them means it takes longer to get your marketing going again. You don't want to spend too long not marketing. Campaigns are usually much more effective if they are steady. Often, simple is not only easier, but the best option.

I have decided to use Mailchimp to start my email list because it's free. You can read my review of the software at http://damoneypage.com/your-very-own-optin-email-list-mail-chimp/.
