What do the expert portfolio analysts say about investments in alternate energy sector? This group of people is confident that energies derived from wind, tidal currents and temperature differences can be the future energy sources for cleaner power. For example, the French people are using advanced technologies in the hydroelectric segment. Large scale research is going on in Scotland as well as the US in this sector. Of course, there are also environmental issues which people are concerned about like falling standards of metal in saline water, destruction of marine like and inclement weather conditions disrupting power generation etc. There are many other issues involved as well.
But protagonists of alternate energies claim that such problems and hurdles can be overcome with the use of more modern technologies and better materials. Energy procured from the ocean is easier for us because we have done extensive studies on ocean currents and onset of tidal waves.
Though we have made significant progress in the generation of hydroelectric energy, the only downside to this form of alternate energy is that it is limited by geographical parameters. Though they are able to generate phenomenal amounts of electricity, older dams are known to be destructive to marine life, where improving the dam conditions are proving to be costly. Therefore the current focus is on harnessing power from rivers which would not result in any ecological imbalance. In summary, green energy is here to stay and investors would just have to study the prospects properly, before they invest.
