Interracial dating is simply defined as the social relations of two persons who came from two different races. The most common example would be a black man dating a white woman, or vice versa. However, it also corresponds to people of other nation and races, including but not limited to Asians and Latinos.

Whether or not you should date a person who belongs to a different race should not actually be an issue. This is a free world and a free country. People can go out with anybody they like - regardless of what he or she looks like, his/her background, and his/her qualities. Technically, the race he or she belongs to should be the least concern of all.

But why is this an issue all of a sudden? Why are people getting concerned about dating a person who belongs to an entirely different race? The answers are simple - social pressures and discrimination.

Some people think that dating another outside their race degrades their personality. This was very true back when black people were regarded as inferior to the white race. But then again, that issue should have been solved a long time ago. Martin Luther King had made his point. Should not everyone be treating everybody else as an equal now?

The same concern surfaces when it comes to going out with someone who hails from an entirely different country. Someway somehow, other races are considered unsophisticated. Therefore, dating citizens from those nations are not acceptable.

It is high time that people start treating others based on their personal values. Every person is an individual that should be judged not according to his looks or color, but according to his character, nature, and abilities.

Attraction happens and love strikes when you least expect it. When it does, let your heart be, accept the fact that you can fall for a black woman, a cute Asian, or a cool Latino. Try to date every person whom you find interesting, regardless of the race he or she belongs to.
