What do you think when you hear the slogan "MakeMoneyToday"? People get a vision that what is ahead has something to do with making money and it will happen somewhat soon.

Branding this type of slogan is not easy but can be done with some patience and correct steps in the beginning. Here are the steps I tell new team members to my Online marketing organization.

1. Come up with web site domain names (URL's) that say something about you and your reason for being into Online Marketing. Write down three to five ideas and look at them and think about them for a while. I often talk about some simple ones like

- GetRichWithCharlie
- MakeYourDreamsComeTrue
- ILoveGolf
- TomWilson
- WealthIsCloseBy

2. You get the idea! After I have written several, looked at them and decided on the ones I like the best I head over to my favorite provider to purchase the domain name. Every online company that you can purchase domain names from has a place to see if the name is available. This is a key step. Try to make sure that the domain name that you select is available as both.com and.net. Example: YourBrandingName.com & YourBrandingName.net. Do not purchase these yet, you still have some more work to do!

3. Next we want to make sure we can carry the personal branding through to the social media and email vendors.

Take a trip to Twitter and see if you Branding name (YourBrandingName) is avaliable, and then over to Facebook to do the same. The more social media sites you can duplicate that name the better.

4. Last step is to make sure you can duplicate the email address. I prefer Google for my Online Marketing email source so of course I have gained control of YourBrandingName@gamil.com (example). Google mail provides other functions like calendar and documents to go along with your name.

5. Once you know that all of these can be put in place, you start back at the beginning and purchase your domain names for about $10.00 each. The rest of the plan should be at no cost. Imagine, you have totally branded yourself and your montra name for $20.00

Your primary goal with all of this effort is to have people be able to find out about you on the search engines, this process is know as SEO or Search Engine Optimization.

When ever you do something on the internet such as write an article, post an ad, write a press release, etc, use this name (YourBrandingName) as a keyword. You are gaining placement on the search engines and setting yourself up for recognition.

You now have your self in position to start to build the recognition of that name by adding followers and providing content on Twitter, Facebook etc... It wont be long until the Social Media world and Online Networking world will know you by your branded name. Rock Star notoriety is just around the corner.

Remember to follow the steps before you make any purchase of a domain name. Getting this process set up early in your Online Marketing career will keep you from having to miss out on branding efforts as you get started. Branding has way more power than you would ever imagine. Free Google placement and recognition is extremely powerful.
