Success can be easy, if you know what you are doing. The problem is that most people have no idea what they are doing, so success looks very illusive from that point of view.
The first secret to success is consistent, repetitive ACTIONS, done over time, toward our goals. The problem is that most of us just plain fail to take action, and to continue until we get the desired results. What does it take to keep us going? If you think it is willpower, think again.
As Jeff Olson puts it in The Slight Edge: "will power is an artificial reward-and-punishment system."
Hardly something we would want to buy into. It is no wonder that willpower rarely works.
The second secret to success is TIME.
In previous articles we discussed the 'now' world of instant gratification. How there is really no such thing as an 'overnight success.' The key is making the right choices, that over time produce the results we are looking for, such as success in Direct Sales Marketing.
The problem for most people is the lack of immediate feedback. But only time will allow us to see the results of our labors. It is time to stop living in the past with our regrets, or dreaming about the future. What matters is now; the actions we take now that will secure our dreams for the future.
