When a home owner installs a new roof, they should consider adding or replacing their gutters and downspouts as a part of the installation process. This can minimize cost and having a save a nightmare DIY project for the home owner who is considering the did it themselves way. It is a given that, gutters and downspouts aren't at the forefront of most homeowners thoughts. Their importance is that they handle a critical task of routing the runoff from a very large surface the roof, to proper drainage extensions such as downspouts, these spouts channel it away from the house.
