Kids love to play out and that is why they love the spring and summer but unfortunately these months are not here forever. As sure as night follows day there are going to be some days when it inevitably rains and this often depresses the kids as they will have to stay inside all day.
But it does not mean that they cannot still have fun when they are indoors. One way that you could have fun is to visit the neighborhood library and make good use of their art materials or just find one of the many great books to read.
Kids can often get enthralled with scrapbooks and these can often occupy them for some time too.
Home movies are another way to keep your kids occupied. Or perhaps you could all sit down and watch a re-run of their favorite movie. Get out the snacks and the popcorn and make it just like visiting the cinema. This can be great for having a family bonding session.
It could be a good idea to let them have a tea party if the weekend is a wash out and they can dress up for it. They will also love to help out preparing cookies and baking.
Board games are always a firm favorite with kids too when they have to stay indoors because of the weather. They always enjoy challenging the adults at games such as dominoes, cards, scrabble and the like.
If your kids are getting fed up with those ideas why not suggest writing some more ideas down and placing them in a hat. You could then draw them out of the hat and do whatever the suggestion is to keep your kids happy.
By keeping your kids busy on the days when it rains it can make them almost look forward to the rainy days in the future.
