Improve Your Driving Distance With 5 Tricks

Trick 1: Ball Placement

When beginning to construct a great golf swing it is important to look at golf ball positioning. Golfing is, after all, a game of small changes that have big impact. A typical placement is to have the ball forward in your stance. If you are comfortable it is common to see the ball places in line with the front foot. The trick here is to find the point in your natural swing that gives you a straight shot.

Take your golf driver to the range and notice your ball position a few checks should expose the sweet spot in your swing. This is the first trick to driving the golf ball further.

Trick 2: Big Tee vs. Small Tee

There is much dispute as to the height of the tee when one is driving. The truth is that everyone has a ball height connected with their swing. It is not the same for everyone, but finding it isn't hard. If you are hitting the ball to high in the air there is too much space between the ball and the club. The opposite is true if you are not getting any height on the golf ball.

These problems are easily worked out with small adjustments. When placing your tee use your index finger to mark its height. Use this base and add or subtract by no greater increments the head of the tee itself.

Trick 3: Club Face Facts

If your clubs face moves during your swing you won't be able to control the golf ball. There are two reasons why the head of your golf club might move:

  • Poor grip.
  • Poor wrists.

Interlocking your index and pinky fingers in your grip can provide extra stability. Holding your thumbs in line throughout your swing can correct the twisting of wrists.

Trick 4: Stand like a Winner

Stance is important in any golf swing, but it is more important with a drive because of the extra force exerted. Paramount of having a great golf drive is balance. Find an open legged stance that is the most stable for you. This is the starting point for all your small adjustments, if it is not stable, the house your golf swing is based on will fall.

Trick 5: Take it Easy Slugger

One of the biggest downfalls of any new golfer is that they try to crush the golf ball. This is a mistake. If you slow down you swing to a natural motion, and worry more about ball position, stance, tee height, and your club face you will drive longer.
