If You Didn't Do It, It Wouldn't Have Happened

Expert Author Gerald Marchewka

Come now,
my foolish one

If you didn't do it
Of course, it wouldn't
have happened

So who can you really blame?

It's time to sit-up straight
Face the music
and be an honest man

Just how long can you sit and smirk
Wipe that silly smile right off
your face
For I know how to bring you to terms

When I think of what you have done
I still can't believe it

How could I have been so wrong?
We thought that we gave you
the world

But I guess it was never enough
So please tell me just where did we
go wrong

Some people say that real character
is the making of a man

But when I look at you I just
want to lay-down and cry

If you only knew
How many nights I spent
tossing and turning until the sheep
came home

But I'm sure it doesn't really
matter to you

Yeah go ahead and bow
your little head
But it really means nothing
to me now

Of course we can't re-do
the past. But if you didn't do it,
It wouldn't have happened anyway

It is time for you to stand-up
Accept some responsibility
And take it like a man

For there is no place to hide
It is time for you to change

No alibis, false excuses or
saving face

Stand-up! Take it like a man
It is time for you to change

No one ever said it would be easy
Stand-up! Take it like a man
It is time for you to change.
