The other night during a party one of my friends asked me what I was doing. I told him and then he said, "If it's so good and you're making money, why isn't everyone doing this?"
Fair question. But there are a lot of reasons.
Ignorance
First, is the most obvious. A LOT of people just don't know which online businesses work and make money, and which are just scams. And, there are a lot of scams out there. People and businesses who will assure you their business is the next "big" thing or will make you thousands in a short time. There are also those that work; that do make money for their members. But, you have to find them. That's not always easy. It's akin to finding that needle in the haystack, frankly. You have to look, ask questions and look again. I found my money making businesses only after a group of us had formed a group and began searching as a group and sharing results. Lesson one: ask for proof. Ask someone to show you how much they have made. Simple as that. If they give you double talk, move on.
Lack of Confidence
The second reason everyone isn't doing this is because (as I have explained on these pages previously) many people don't have the confidence to step out of the box. Face it. If you have a job and benefits and get paid, it's pretty hard to give up that guaranteed income and rely on yourself. We have all been subjected to that mentality that says go to school and get a job. Not many people said, go to school and then make yourself a job!
The Fear of Failure
Think about it. How many of us actually step out of that familiar comfort zone? Most people want to, but never take that step. That's also why, pure and simple. It's part of what separates the Trumps and Buffets from the 9 to 5 crowd. And fear of failure.
They fear failure...again. That fear stops them from taking any action to actually change. Think about it. Walt Disney failed in several businesses before he succeeded. Trump has gone bankrupt at least once and if you read about him, admits to more than a couple failures. Thomas Edison failed hundreds of times in his quest to perfect the light bulb. They didn't quit. They kept going.
They Lack the "Big Picture" Mentality
Another reason is that people often don't really believe in themselves. They can't see the big picture of their life. They whine and complain about the boss, their job, their lives, their lack of money, blah, blah, blah, but do nothing at all to change it. You know them because they are all around you. They complain, moan and bitch but, take action? Never. They say, "Scott, I don't know, it just seems like a scam." They're right. They don't know, LOL. And you know what? They're not going to be successful because they don't believe in themselves. They're not made of the same stuff as Edison, Ford, Trump, or Buffett.
They lack the ability to look at something and envision how they can change their lives. They settle for that same job day after day, year after year because they deep down, don't believe in themselves. They don't think they can be successful. They want to be but lack the vision to see how things could change if they are successful at something other than their job.
And that's why everybody isn't doing this business even though you can make six and seven figures a year doing this. No one is going to hand you money to convince you this is real. I say, do the research and spend the ten or twenty bucks to see what it is. Twenty dollars for a chance to change your life like mine did? Are you kidding? That is exactly why those people will still be doing the same thing in one year, two years and five years from now and complaining about opportunity. Because they won't invest even twenty bucks in themselves. Sad, isn't it? They just won't take that first step.
By the way my friend who asked that question? I told him about how I make money. He was interested but never went beyond that. I wasn't surprised. The fact is that most people don't have the vision to see themselves in anything but the life they're in now. They are comfortable with the mediocrity of life even if they want more they're just not willing to try something new.
And at the end of the day, that's why more people aren't doing this. Not because it doesn't work.
