Could you identify a marriage in crisis? Would you know if your marriage was in crisis? Can you identify the first signs of a marriage in crisis?

A marriage in crisis can be easily confused with a somewhat boring marriage.

The first signs of a marriage in crisis can be spotted in the sex life of the spouses. When was the last time you had spontaneous sex? Do you follow a schedule for sex? How frequently do you have sex?

Sex as a scheduled activity, may not be the end of a marriage. Most marriages go through such phases especially after a new baby. Each baby demands more time and energy from the parents, leaving less and less time and energy for each other. So if a marriage involves scheduled sex for some time it is normal.

What should ring alarm bells is that you have not broken away from the pattern after some time. The partners in a marriage in crisis, stop having spontaneous sex. Little or no physical affection marks their day. When a couple is in love and happy to be together, small gestures of affection are to be expected.

It is normal to expect to kiss the partner for no reason. A quick hug or pat on the back too. Do you peck each other on the cheek or forehead, just like that? Do you steal a pinch or a pat on the bottom? Do you exchange hot looks anytime anywhere?

If these things are missing from a marriage, then we are looking at a marriage in crisis. These are the first signs of losing touch with each other. Another typical symptom of a marriage in crisis would be lack of curtsey.

You may wonder do you really need to "thank", say "sorry" or "excuse me" or "please" to your spouse. Let me tell you, you do. These basic curtsies help you not take your spouse for granted. When we can be polite to strangers why can we not be polite to someone we love.

When we don't follow these basic curtsies with our spouses, we tend to take them for granted. This attitude slowly turns to coldness creates crisis. There is no reason not to be polite to our spouse.

If you have spotted these warning signs in your marriage, then you still have time to bring it back to health. Start working on them now. There is no need to plan it or talk it out with your partner. Just do what needs to be done. Change your habits and incorporate the desired ones.

Make unexpected kisses and hugs a part of your routine. Go back to being polite to your spouse. You will see the positive responses in your spouse soon. Before long you would have pulled your marriage in crisis on the right track. Look forward to a happy life.
