You've been Warned: The IRS sent you a "Notice of Intent to Levy," but it was ignored. Now it's too late. An IRS Hitman is knocking at your door. What can you do if you're in this situation? There's still hope. There's one little known secrets the IRS has that can get your Tax Levy released.

No Notice? If the IRS is attempting to Levy you and you didn't get a notice in the mail, there's a problem. Before the IRS can seize anything of yours, they are required to send notice. The notice must be given 30 days before the levy seizure occurs. If you did not receive notice, you have the right to appeal to seizure.

Exempt Assets: There are Assets the IRS cannot seize. If any of the following is seized, you have the right to get it back.

-Most Public Assistance Payments like SSI or Welfare

-Court-Ordered Child Support

-Worker's Comp. Benefits

-Unemployment Benefits

-Books, tools, and equipment needed for work

-Furniture or personal effects. But only up to $6,250 worth.

-Basic Wearing Apparel. This does not include name brands or luxury items. The IRS won't make you a nudist. They don't want to see that.

Request a Reprieve: Beg for mercy. You can call the IRS and let them know how you intend to pay your debt. Let them know that you're applying for a bank loan or getting money from family. If the IRS thinks your plan sounds reasonable, they might give you a break from the Levy.

Don't Submit an Offer... Do you know you don't qualify for an Offer in Compromise? Then don't apply. The Offer will actually extend the amount of time the IRS can collect on your debt. In addition to that, the 20% of the offer and $150 fee required to submit an offer are not refundable. But if you really think you have a chance of winning this on your own, give it a shot. But be warned, less than 2% of the people who submit an Offer in Compromise without professional help, win their case.

Now You Have The Smoking Gun...Use it!
