I Need to Gain Weight Fast

Do you need to gain weight fast? Perhaps you want to have a better looking body or get ready for school sports, the approach to gain weight fast is going to be the same. One thing you should NOT do is buy expensive supplements that promise results. Most of these weight gaining supplements are loaded with sugar. When you want to gain weight, I am assuming you are looking to gain lean mass instead of fat. What should you do?

1.) As obvious as this sounds, you need to eat healthy and be consistent at least 80% of the time. If you are looking to just gain pure fat, then I can easily tell you to eat fast-food five times a day. Most of your food choices should be whole-grains, vegetables, fruits, lean meat, eggs, etc.

2.) When you are stuck on the scale, you slowly increase your calorie intake. For example, you don't go from 2,000 calories to 8,000 all of a sudden. Never listen to people who simply tell you, "Oh, just eat 6,000 calories per day like me." If you are gaining 1-2 pounds per week, then stick to the same amount of calories for another two weeks. If you are gaining more than that, then you might be eating way too much.

3.) Eat several times a day instead of the typical 2-3 meals per day. Can you imagine sitting down to eat over 2,000 calories in one meal? You will feel really bloated and disgusted. When you eat too much all at once, most of the calories would be stored as fat instead of being used for energy and to feed your muscles. Try to eat five or more meals per day to spread the calories apart.

4.) Only do compound exercises at the gym. A typical skinny person would walk into the gym and spend over an hour on bicep curls. Bicep curls are perfect example of isolation exercise that you should stop wasting your time on when you are skinny. Assuming you are not taking expensive supplements or steroids, you need to spend your time wisely at the gym. Compound exercises target multiple muscle groups at once, and let you get out of the gym quicker so you can eat to feed your muscles.

5.) You need to get more sleep. Your muscles grow when you are resting. If you are sleeping about 3 hours per night, then this is why you are not gaining weight, and even if you are gaining weight, it will mostly be fat.
