There are books and articles out there that insist you think positively, that positive thinking is the only way to go. They're perfectly correct - up to a point. But there are two factors against positive thinking if you're looking for success.
Positive thinking alone won't bring the affluence you crave so much. Now, please don't misunderstand me. I'm not suggesting for a moment that you shouldn't think positively. You should avoid negativity like the plague. What I am saying is that leaping out of bed first thing in the morning, grinning all over your face while grinding your teeth and thinking; I must think positively all day, while you may well be able to elevate your mood, it won't actually produce riches.
What are you thinking positively about? Do you have goals? Not the 'I want to be rich' goals, but very specific goals. What do you wish to do? Supposing I was a fairy, (Dear God, the thought of me in a tutu with a magic wand is too horrific to contemplate!), but let's suppose I could give you the chance to choose anything at all you wanted to do with your life, the proviso being that you give me every tiny detail before I grant that wish.
This is the sort of detail I mean. A positive, definite goal.
Let's say that you've always wanted to be a great concert pianist. You don't have a clue of how you're going to go about it; that doesn't matter. That's your goal. So try to keep the following in your mind. Attitude = Focus = Hypnosis. If you see me bandying the word 'attitude' about, just think of it as another word for focus.
So you home in on a grand piano. If you don't own one, and few of us do, go to a place where you may view one. Take photos of it. Then, when you reach home, imagine playing it. The feel of those wonderfully smooth keys beneath your fingers, responding to the lightest touch. The ease with which you're able to operate the pedals. The beautifully polished glint of the woodwork as you sit on the stool and prepare to play.
Lose yourself in your ambition. You're actually playing this magnificent instrument.
You're hypnotized.
The more you concentrate upon playing this piano, or one like it, the more the enthusiasm flows through you. Naturally, it must be assumed that you love classical music. So focus even deeper. You're in the auditorium. It's a full house and people have come just to have the pleasure of listening to you.
You hear the woodwind. Then the brass. Then the conductor turns to you and the notes you produce with the master's touch flit like precious birds around the auditorium, delighting everyone. This is just the attitude and focus I mean. But be very sure you want what you choose more than anything else in life.
The more you focus, and the tighter it is, the more attainable your desire becomes
