Humor Can Be Found Almost Anywhere You Look

Expert Author Paul Vann

Life is and of itself is absolutely wonderful, especially when you consider all of the humor one experiences on any day. Given the state of the American economy with record mortgage foreclosures, mountains of credit card debt and job loss, people need humor and laughter, just to keep from crying.

On a recent family trip to take care of chores for our family, my wife and two young children filed into our SUV and headed out to pay a few bills, stop by the post office and go to the bank. The fun began when I requested my wife drop off a couple of letters in the post office while I maneuvered through the parking lot.

I asked my kids, how long do you think its going to take mom to go in the post office, drop the letters in the mail and return to our vehicle? My two young kids laughed and said, its going to take a long time.

Lo and behold as I was driving through the parking lot in order to turn around a black SUV passed our black SUV, this was going to be an interesting situation. As I found a empty parking space to turn my vehicle around, all of a sudden my wife appears from inside the post office, she never looks up and by this time, the other black SUV pulls up to the end of the parking lot to depart, by this time I blow the horn of our vehicle to let my wife know she is attempting to get in the wrong vehicle.

I said to myself, no she is not going to try to get inside the other black SUV, even though I blew the horn on our vehicle, my wife never looked up. Other drivers were also observing my wife attempt to get into the black SUV departing the post office parking lot.

At this time my two young children were yelling, mom you are trying to get in the wrong car, we are over here. As my wife walked around the other black SUV, she opened the door and the lady driving the vehicle stated, "You are getting in the wrong SUV." My wife was stunned because she thought she was getting in our SUV, once she realized she had opened the wrong door, the kids and I pulled up and let her in.

Well suffice to say the least, my wife was upset at me. So I said, I blew the horn to get your attention, however you never looked up. She said, their SUV was black and why would you do something like this to me?

I told my wife, its your responsibility to be paying attention when you are walking and besides the other black SUV was a different make and model than ours. My comments just would not do, so I said you are responsible for paying attention to what you are doing, besides we blew the horn so you would know where we are.

After that, the kids and I laughed at my wife and every time we go out for chores we ensure my wife does not get in the wrong vehicle, we roll down our windows and wave our hands to get my wifes attention, especially if another black SUV is parked near ours.

Who said you cannot find humor on any given day? Humor is all around you, find some, it will make you laugh.
