How to Tone Your Stomach Effectively

If you want to learn how to tone your stomach effectively, then you need to figure out which exercises would be best at helping you tone and strengthen your abs first in order to give them the shape and body that they need to become visible. Here are some of the best ab exercises out there.

Sit ups are probably the most used and most common kind of exercise for abdominal muscles to date. So, if you want to learn how to tone your stomach effectively, then you need to learn how to do your sit ups correctly.

To start, lie down with bent knees and plant your feet on the floor. Then, put your hands behind your head, tighten your stomach and lift your head off of the floor while contracting your abs. Make sure you only lift your shoulders up to a level you are actually comfortable with, and keep your feet on the floor at all times.

Hold that position for one second and return to your original position while keeping your shoulders raised a little bit. Repeat.

If you are having trouble keeping your feet planted, try hooking them under a bed or a couch. Once you get used to doing sit ups, you can then add some weights and keep lifting heavier ones as time goes by.

If you want to learn how to tone your stomach effectively, then you will also need to learn how to do crunches properly. To start, lie down with knees bent and plant your feet on the floor. Tighten your stomach, cross your arms across your chest, and raise your shoulders up. Make sure you keep your back straight and exhale with each crunch.

After raising your shoulders enough, pause for one second and slowly return to your original position while keeping your head raised a little bit. Repeat.

Leg lifts are great for the abs, too. To start, lie down with your hands and knees flat on your sides. Then, lift your legs up until they are pointing straight at the ceiling, and lower them slowly without touching the floor. Keep lifting your legs and lowering them. If you want, you can also do your leg lifts on a bar and raise your knees up to your chest instead.

The last exercise that can teach you how to tone your stomach effectively would be v-ups. To start, lie down with your hands over your head on the ground. Then, raise your torso and your legs at the same time while keeping both of your legs completely straight. Hold the position for one second and return to your original position. Repeat.

Oddly enough though when you do the exercises in this article all you're really doing is building your abdominal muscles. You might be saying great that's what I want to do but actually that will do you no good at all if you have a layer of fat over your abs.
