How to Test Your Brand New E-Book Idea For Success BEFORE You Write It

Expert Author Joshua Black

If you are thinking about creating a new e-book, there can be a huge amount competition out there for certain niches. It seem like everyone is trying to jump on the bandwagon these days and start writing. Before you spend your valuable time writing a new e-book that may not be a success, there are some great ways that you can test your idea before you write a word. Read on to find out more.

Here are 4 ways that you can test the waters for the success of your new product:

  1. Send AdWords traffic to a squeeze page- This will allow you to do some keyword research before you finalize the domain for the actual product. Here you will write a few pay-per-click ads and drive traffic to a squeeze page, where people can sign up to be on the notification list for your product. In the process, this will also allow you to build up a pre-qualified customer list. If you don't get any takes, then there is probably no interest for that product.
  2. Have your customers pre-order the product- When a person actually has to commit money to a product, there is a much higher chance that the rest of the public will have an interest. This technique is done from everything to e-books, software, and IPhones. Again, if you cannot get people to sign up and pay in advance (for a discount perhaps), then you probably won't sell them once the product has been created. If you only get a few people, refund their money.
  3. Survey your current market or your customers- Just get out there and ask people if they would buy something that you want to create. Don't use this as your only measure, however, because many people will say they are interested to make you fell good, but have no intention of buying from you.
  4. Look at the comments on other blogs and forums- See what people are complaining about. Look at the words they are using. Many times, these can become your successful keywords. Think about your e-book or idea and see how it would fit with these peoples' problems.

Once you do this kind of research, it will be much easier to launch your new e-book. You will now be able to spend your time wisely and once you do launch your e-book, the public will already have an interest in it, because you may have created a small buzz while doing your research.
