How to Teach Respect to Your Child - Part 1

Parents are always looking for ways to instill good values in their child. Respect is one of the most fundamental core values that will take many years to instill in children. The aim of this article is to provide parents with a variety of ways to approach this topic.
Role-Model Respect.
One of ways a child learns how to be a human in this world is by watching and listening. One of the first things to consider is hope to you get along with and communicate with others. Consider how you speak to your children, your spouse, and your neighbors. If you make a mistake, stop do you apologize or amends? If your child see these approaches to working with other people, your child will repeat your actions.
Talk About Respectful Interactions
Talk about this and honesty and other related traits often. It is a good idea to point out when people are being respectful or disrespectful out in the world. Talking about the social exchanges you witness will help your child learn the lines between what is respectful and what is disrespectful.
Teach Child How To Be Friendly and Social
Doing this includes the basics such as listening when other people speak, sharing the child's toys, and taking turns. Teach your child to empathize with others and recognize when others are feeling different emotions. Help you child to respond to others in a way that the child can appropriately respond.
In conclusion, these few strategies above will help your child start to foster respect towards him/herself, as well as others.
