It is a fact that maintaining a long distance relationship is not an easy feat. In order to maintain such a relationship both individuals should exert a strong sense of commitment. There should also be a great deal of trust mutually shared by involved parties.If you feel the trust isn't there look to your own possible issues first this will give you true clarity.
Even though it is feasible to still keep the fire burning, it won't hurt to follow some more tips in order to ensure that your long distance relationship works.
1. It is better to set up certain guidelines and rules in the relationship.
Studies have revealed that partners that don't set any form of guidelines or rules regarding their relationship are more likely to break up with each other as early as 6 months. Setting a number of parameters with the relationship has proven to be a great deal of help. These guidelines can be like setting regular communication with each other, declining requests from other people to go out, regular meetings and other habitual things.
2. Learn to express your true feelings.
Expressing what you truly feel to and towards your partner in any form (mail, phone etc.) can help a lot to make the relationship work. So as to keep the relationship in balance, there has to be a continuous reassurance of commitment from both individuals involved. Putting across and expressing to your partner that you are equally trying to make the relationship work is very important.
3. Express your appreciation through small gifts or tokens.
Another way that can help keep a relationship alive is by sending each other little tokens of appreciation. A small gift from time to time can help you show your partner just how much you value him/her. There are several ways or things that you can send your partners with. For instance, photos or other personalized things that you can make. Small tokens or gifts can make all the difference in a relationship.
