Choosing Locations
Picking up proper location plays an important role in the success of exhibition. First of all, exhibitors have to know the usual directions and routes the visitors move around the venue. For instance, the highest traffic volume usually closes to the entrance and exit gates, lavatory, restroom and food area, whereas the columns and loading area prevent the visitors from approaching the exhibition booth. In addition, if the booth stands next to the competitors, exhibitors should make the maximum use of the booth to outperform the competitors. And, don't forget to check whether the booths have adequate spaces to hold add-on features such as hanging signs, piling racks and canopy. Inadequate height will lower the booth visibilities to visiting guests. By the way, exhibiting as an umbrella organization or group- combining the subsidies or joining mutually beneficial suppliers together- can take advantage of joint strength and benefits it generates. Even the exhibition organizers might set up a specific area designed for the chain of exhibitors.
Exhibitors' Training
Exhibitors usually have their attention on information delivery, but fail to realize the genuine purpose of attending exhibitions. It is often to see catalogs, gifts and samples displayed in tables for visitors to grab whatever they like and leave without leaving any message. Due to the lack of communication capabilities, the exhibitors miss opportunities to acquire information from the visitors. Therefore, training and preparation work before the exhibition can avoid the above-mentioned problems. It is important that exhibitors are happy to talk with visitors and understand their needs by providing catalogs and corporate gifts to potential customers in the right time. The catalogs make visitors understand complete information other than the products on spot. In addition, videotapes, product models and business cards with telephone numbers, URLs, fax and addresses boost the effectiveness of marketing.
Booth's Innovative Decorations
Most exhibitions will provide ceiling spotlights to highlight the products. Bring portable lighting equipment by self is also good option. According to industry survey, lighting can rise product awareness to 30%~50%. Furthermore, it is unnecessary to post or hang volume of images in the booth. Several, but big and highly resolved pictures are good enough to create impressive images. Posters carrying too much information or to small pictures are unreadable. Placing images at least above the vision and using bold, eye-catching colors can make the booths stand out even from the long distance. Remember not to use colors which are the same and similar to the backgrounds. And, the display equipment and supplies should fit the size of booth. Overcrowded or empty spaces should be avoided. In a word, it is suggested to use innovative designs or decorations to lure the visitors, especially in such large and flat space.
Pre-Exhibition Marketing Activities
Marketing activities before exhibition are the must-do. The exhibition organizers think exhibitors should publish at least one news release about the upcoming show on their industry magazines before three months. Then the exhibitors are suggested to send a copy of news to the existing and potential customers. The copy should also attach message informing the customers they will attend the exhibition, as well as VIP cards printed with company name and booth number. Meanwhile, the exhibitors can have the backlinks from the exhibition websites to boost corporate identities and arrange meeting in advance. Finally, exhibitors can also post product images or themes which will be displayed at the exhibitions on the website. It is easy for visitors to find their booths by knowing the contents of exhibition in advance.
